The Controvesial Lecturer of IIUM 

 The controversial lecturer Solehah has been at the centre of public attention over several controversial views on Malay history and civilisation. Among the claims she was reported to have made included one that the Romans learned shipbuilding from the Malays, and that iron ore deposits in Malaysia were the results of meteor strikes.

 

She was  reportedly awarded the Malaysia Research Assessment award by the higher education ministry  in April 2026.

 

The MyRA (Malaysia Research Assessment) award is a national star-rating evaluation given by the Malaysia Ministry of Higher Education to universities and higher education institutions to measure and honor excellence in research, development, commercialization, and innovation. This award said to be given to an institution and not an individual.
