Rosmah will not get a Retrial, her appeal at COA can proceed.

 No retrial for Rosmah in RM1.25bil solar hybrid project graft case

 Finally her appeal at the COA can be heard.

On Sept 2, 2022,  trial Judge Zaini Mazlan convicted Rosmah of soliciting RM187.5 million from former Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Saidi Abang Samsudin, through her former aide Rizal Mansor, as an inducement to help the company secure the solar hybrid project.

She was also found guilty of receiving RM5 million from Saidi through Rizal at Seri Perdana in Putrajaya on Dec 20, 2016, and a further RM1.5 million at her residence in Jalan Langgak Duta on Sept 7, 2017.

Zaini sentenced Rosmah to 10 years’ imprisonment on each of the three charges, with the jail terms to run concurrently, and imposed a RM970 million fine.

If she should lose her appeal at the COA, she can still have a final appeal at the Federal Court.

So there is still a long road ahead for her.
